The water temperature sensor is a sort of sensors to obtain precise sensing of water temperatures using thermistors , and is mainly used as a sensor for coolant temperatures, and a transmitter of signals to the ECU as well.
The photo below shows an integrated type water temperature sensor in which metallic case two precise thermistor elements of different feature are incorporated, and is actually mounted in cars for sensing coolant temperatures. With this single sensor, function for detecting multiple temperatures is possible. As other products, sensors with single thermistor element or module sensors integrated with thermostat are available.
